The Ethiopian Airports Enterprise (EAE) announced this week that the renovation work being carried at the cost of 72 million birr to modernize the old Bole International Airport terminal, would be completed by next December. The Makalle and Bahir Dar airport terminals will be handling international flights in two months period.
Enterprise planning and market development coordination office head Nega Wondimu told ENA that the renovation of the old terminal was launched in 2007 with a 72 million birr budget allocated by the Ethiopian government. State licenses investors with over 173 mil birr Entrepreneurs with more than 173.3 million birr capital have been licensed in Harrari State during the past nine months, according to the state investment office. Office head Abduselam Abdosh told WIC that the 64 licensed local and foreign investors are expected to engage in industry, real estate development, agriculture, health, education hotel, service delivery and construction sector upon going operational, the projects would create more than 2,000 jobs, he said. Ethiopian, Lufthansa launch code share flights Ethiopian Airlines (EAL) has announced the commencement of a code sharing flight with Lufthansa as of April 4,2008. The Chief executive officer of Ethiopian, Girma Wake, and the executive vice president of marketing and sales, Thierry Antinori jointly gave a press conference in connection with the launching of a code-sharing flight agreement. As per they agreement the two carriers jointly provide daily frequency on the Addis Ababa-Frankfurt route. Authority collects revenue totaling 388 mln birr The Amhara State Revenues Authority has announced that it has collected more than 388 birr from various income titles over the past eight months. Tax collection expert with the authority Hailekeros Asegidom told ENA recently that the amount of revenue the authority collected during the reported period is up by 26.3 million birr from its initial target. The revenue collected in the stated period showed a 69 million birr increase. Ministry set to promote tourist attractions The Ministry of Tourism and Culture said promotional activities have been launched here and abroad with a view to introducing the various tourist attractions of the country. The Ministry, in collaboration with Res Promotion and Advertising Plc, a private business company, is to open an exhibition at the Addis Ababa exhibition Center between 2 and 4 May 2008 under the theme Hotels Tourism, and Trade Fair in the first querter of the new Ethiopian millennium. Center supplies over 371 tonnes of coffee The Dire Dawa Coffee Quality Control Center said it had supplied over 371 tonnes of coffee from various zones to the central market last week. The center told ENA that 300 tonnes of the coffee that was supplied to the central auction had already been sold. |
