The Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MoLSA) and UNICEF on Monday launched a website and an electronic database of information pertaining disability and related issues in Ethiopia.

The database which is accessible using the new ECDD website as well as on CDs will be distributed for free to parliament, government bureaus, university libraries, disabled persons Organizations (DPOs), developmental NGOs and other interested organizations.

Celebrated its 3rd year anniversary, ECCD has established a public disability information service center (DISC). The DISC found at ECCD’s office provides documentation on disability and development in Ethiopia. It also provides information on services and organizations available to persons with disabilities.

The electronic database contains information on disability, various disabilities subjects, disability services and service providers along with their location, types of services and products. The information which is available in Amharic and English also contains lists and description of organizations working on disability related issues in Ethiopia.
